Aerospace Research Scientist
XAnalytix Systems is seeking an Aerospace Research Scientist to contribute to our growing portfolio of research and development efforts in various domains. We are looking specifically for a highly motivated
individual capable of contributing their unique talents to our team. A successful candidate will be able to seamlessly switch between working autonomously and within a small team setting. Specific things you will do include:

Contribute to the direction and success of a small, talented team with your individual expertise.

Identify, analyze, and decompose challenging problems and customer requirements and then develop innovative solutions to problems in domain areas such as: space situational awareness; guidance, navigation, and control (GNC); and data-fusion.

Develop prototype state-of-the art software systems to demonstrate the benefit of the work you’re doing.

Engage with our customers, academic colleagues, and industry partners to ensure that we provide state of the art, mission relevant solutions to some of our nation’s most challenging and constantly evolving national security concerns.

Cultivate innovative, new programs and help to expand our customer base.

Occasionally travel to customer sites, conferences, etc.
Qualifications:
-
A B.S., M.S. or Ph.D. in Aerospace engineering, or a related field, and a minimum of 3 years of experience working in a relevant, research and development position.

Practical experience with modelling, simulation, and analysis of complex systems.

Programming experience in Python.

Strong written and presentation skills.
Desired Qualifications:
The following skills are highly desirable for this position, and will be heavily weighted when assessing
prospective candidates:

Demonstrated knowledge of estimation principals, with a focus on guidance, navigation and control of aerospace vehicles.

Strong mathematical background in probability and statistics, linear algebra, differential equations, and numerical methods.

Experience developing and implementing estimation and control algorithms within prototype software.

Astrodynamics experience.
-
5+ years of experience working in the Aerospace domain.

History of peer reviewed scientific (conference and/or journal) publications.

Location:
Positions are remote, but preference is given to applicants located near our core customers including: Rome, NY; Albuquerque, NM; and Colorado Springs, CO.
